Jonathan Feigen: House initially denied involvement in the incident according to the individual with familiar with the probe of the incident. As the investigation progressed, however, House did confirm the NBA’s findings, according to another individual with knowledge of the investigation. He was instructed to leave the NBA’s Florida campus and will not return this season.

Adam Wexler: #Rockets Mike D'Antoni asked for his thoughts before game 5 today on Danuel House:"I don't have any thoughts, in the sense we have to play tonight. The team can address that later, just thinking about playing & winning tonight."
Adam Wexler: #Rockets Danuel House & Tyson Chandler are listed OUT for tonight's game 5; House (personal reasons) & Chandler (neck/spasms). League announced yesterday House left the bubble & will not participate in games the rest of the playoffs.
The Rockets trail the Lakers, 3-1, in their best-of-seven series, with Game 5 scheduled for Saturday night. The unauthorized guest was a woman who had worked on campus several weeks ago as a temperature checker, according to a person who was briefed on the investigation but was not authorized to publicly discuss it. It was not clear how she had managed to gain access to the property, which has secure checkpoints around the perimeter. But House propped one of the hotel doors open for her, the person said.
Tim Reynolds: The Rockets' Tyson Chandler, who was out for Game 3 earlier this week for personal reasons as well, has been cleared of any wrongdoing, AP is told. Chandler was with the Rockets for Game 4 last night.
Jonathan Feigen: NBA announces that Rockets F Danuel House Jr. is out for the remainder of the playoffs. League determined "House had a guest in his hotel room over multiple hours on September 8 who was not authorized to be on campus." No other staff members or players were deemed to be involved.
Alykhan Bijani: Coach D'Antoni says that Danuel House will not play tonight for the #Rockets. "As far as I know, he's OUT"
Kelly Iko: D’Antoni on whether House will play again this series: “The investigation is going on. So when they come out with the ruling, we’ll go from there”
Spencer Dinwiddie: Obviously I wasn’t in the bubble so I don’t know the official rules and that’s my disclaimer. But from the outside looking in *no pun intended* If she’s permitted to be in the bubble, and he’s permitted to be in the bubble. Grown ppl can make safe decisions... *pun intended*
ESPN reported on Wednesday that House’s status for the remainder of the Western Conference semifinals is in jeopardy due to the investigation. Yahoo Sports! reported on Thursday morning that the league is investigating House for allegedly allowing a female testing official into his hotel room.
Here is what The Athletic has been able to confirm via multiple sources: A female entered the Rockets’ team hotel on Monday night, passing multiple security checkpoints before being flagged for her entry, sources said. She exited the hotel in the early hours of Tuesday morning, and the league cited early data points that implicated two members of the Rockets, House and Tyson Chandler, sources said. When the female was questioned by NBA security, she did not implicate House’s name and it is uncertain whether she remains on campus, sources said. She claimed to have contact with Chandler and another player, not named House, according to sources.
According to sources, the Rockets’ entire team had to enter a quarantine period on Tuesday due to the potential exposure. Those sources said there appears to be no video connecting House and the female; only the flagging of her entering and leaving the hotel, and the possibility of a door opening and closing to match those timelines. The NBA has informed involved parties that it has circumstantial evidence implicating House.
Chandler was cleared on Wednesday and was not listed on the team’s injury report for Thursday’s Game 4, where House was listed out. The league’s investigation cleared Chandler and focused toward House on Wednesday, sources said. “This is done out of precaution and making sure the NBA’s campus standards are upheld,” one source with knowledge told The Athletic.
Houston Rockets reserve Danuel House Jr. is under investigation by the league for allegedly allowing a female COVID-19 testing official into his hotel room, and his status for the remainder of the Western Conference semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers is in question, sources told Yahoo Sports.
House maintains his innocence, sources said, and a decision from the league is expected before Game 4 on Thursday.
Opposing teams are closely monitoring how the league handles this situation. The Rockets are the lone remaining team staying at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort, which is where the team undergoes its daily testing.
