Shams Charania: Down to Seth Curry at point guard, Mavs are waiving forward Quincy Acy and signing guard Jonathan Gibson, league sources tell The Vertical. Acy’s fully recovered from bone bruise injury and will have opportunity to sign once he clears waivers. Dallas needed PG depth now.

Tim MacMahon: A source said C Jaleel Cousins, DeMarcus' younger brother, is expected to join the D-League Texas Legends if he clears waivers following his release from the Mavs. All of the Mavs' cuts are open to joining the team's D-League affiliate with the exception of G Kyle Collinsworth, who plans to play overseas. However, there is a decent possibility that final cut Jonathan Gibson gets claimed by another NBA team.

And according to sources who spoke with Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports, the Warriors need to Green at this year’s February 9 trade deadline. “They should [trade him this year],” a Western Conference executive told Deveney “If they made the decision that they’re not giving up any of the young kids, then that’s fine, but are you going to just keep chugging forward with what you’ve got? Obviously, the Draymond punch with [Jordan] Poole was a bigger deal than they let on, it is still dragging down that team. No doubt about it.”

According SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley, the Knicks are among a list of teams who have shown interest in Detroit Pistons forward Saddiq Bey. “In general, a name that has been talked about recently is Saddiq Bey in Detroit,” Begley reported on Tuesday. “The Knicks are among the teams that have registered some interest in Saddiq. I don’t know how far discussions have gotten, but Bey, obviously a Villanova guy, wing, could help the Knicks from a depth perspective.”
