More on Edmond Sumner Free Agency

Nets Daily: Official: Trade of Juan Pablo Vaulet's draft rights to Pacers for Edmond Sumner and a Heat second in 2025. Nets will waive Sumner. At the end of the day, following this and Doumbouya trade, Nets save $8.1 million in taxes/salary and essentially swapped a 2024 second for a 2025.
Tony East: I asked Kevin Pritchard about Edmond Sumner’s team option, which the Pacers have to decide on by tomorrow: “Ed will be back with the team. He had a great year.”
Tony East: "I want to be a Pacer, I love the Pacers... I'm a loyal guy," Edmond Sumner says. He has a team option this offseason, though I find it impossible to believe the Pacers wouldn't pick it up and keep him around next season.
Expect the Pacers to exercise the $2.3 million team option of Edmond Sumner by Aug. 1. In 53 games this season, Sumner averaged 7.5 points on 39.8% from 3. According to ProFitX, Sumner has outplayed his $2.1 million contract for the 2020-21 season by a remarkable $8 million.
Scott Agness: Pacers guard Edmond Sumner signed his new three-year deal this morning. His strange left foot injury has cleared up and he’s eager to compete for a spot in the rotation. He’ll soon take part in the NBA’s rookie transition period.

Haralabos Voulgaris: I tried to get (Alex Caruso) the year he was a free agent three years ago. Could not convince people that he was even an NBA basketball player and one of our guys in our front office is like, ‘I think if he didn’t look like the like Jim Carrey from the Cable Guy when when he plays a pickup basketball game, I think he would be taken a lot more seriously.’
