Shams Charania: The Toronto Raptors are signing forward Freddie Gillespie to a two-year contract, sources tell me and @BlakeMurphyODC. Gillespie had a productive stretch over two 10-day contracts.
The Toronto Raptors announced Sunday they have signed forward Freddie Gillespie to a second 10-day contract. Per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gillespie, 6-foot-9, 245 pounds, is averaging 5.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 15.9 minutes and is shooting .619 (13-21) from the field in five games with the Raptors. He signed his first 10-day contract Thursday, Apr. 8. Prior to joining Toronto, Gillespie posted averages of 10.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 27.8 minutes in 15 games with the Memphis Hustle in the NBA G League bubble.
Blake Murphy: Freddie Gillespie will sign a second 10-day contract with the Raptors tomorrow, per a source. No surprise. He played a lot by 10-day standards, impressed, and had Nick Nurse publicly vouch. Would think a partial guarantee through 2021-22 comes Apr 28, barring the unforeseen.
Michael Grange: Raptors 10-day signee Freddie Gillespie will join team in Cleveland presuming tests negative today and tomorrow. Will fly privately Saturday. Khem Birch can clear waivers at 5 pm Saturday. IF he clears Raps leaders to sign him as a FA. Unlikely to be with team in CLE.
