NBA rumors: Serge Ibaka returning tonight after missing 30 games

More on Serge Ibaka Injury

Ohm Youngmisuk: Ty Lue says Rajon Rondo is out tonight. Serge Ibaka has progressed to 4-on-4 but is not with the Clippers on this road trip. Lue said he has given thought to keeping Ivica Zubac as the starter when Ibaka returns after how well Zubac has been in the starting five.
Toronto Raptors forward Serge Ibaka was wearing a protective boot on his left ankle Tuesday morning and said he doesn't know whether he'll play in Wednesday's Game 6 against the Boston Celtics. Ibaka injured the ankle in Monday's Game 5 blowout loss to the Celtics. "I'm just trying to see how I feel tomorrow," Ibaka said.
Toronto is officially listing Ibaka as questionable for Game 6. However, Toronto coach Nick Nurse said the team is optimistic that Ibaka will be able to go. "We'll just wait and see on that. But same as always, if he's there, we'll play him. I think there's a good chance of that," Nurse said. "If not, we'll move on to the next guy and get them ready to go."
Josh Lewenberg: Ibaka didn't practice today. He'll travel with the team to Atlanta but is unlikely to play. He's close but Nurse wants him to get a practice in before he returns. Lowry is about a week away from being game ready, Nurse estimates a Dec. 1 target date.
Kyle Goon: Nick Nurse says Kyle Lowry will probably take a few weeks to heal; Serge Ibaka has a sprain that's severe enough for him to fly home from the road trip early.
Kyle Lowry suffered a small fracture in his left thumb and Serge Ibaka suffered a "pretty bad" sprained ankle, coach Nick Nurse said after Friday's 122-104 win over the Pelicans. Lowry is set to see a hand specialist when the team travels to Los Angeles on Saturday.
"It felt weird from the rip," Lowry said. "I kept playing through it and kept playing through it. Originally we thought it was something in the nailbed because the nailbed turned black and blue. We got some X-rays and we sent the X-rays off to the doctors and there was a small fracture in the thumb."
Josh Lewenberg: For the second straight game, the Raptors will be without Lowry, Ibaka and Valanciunas tonight.
Josh Lewenberg: C.J. Miles (shoulder) returns from his one-game absence today but the Raptors will sit Serge Ibaka out with a sore left knee.

Ja Morant: 'I'm a Top 5 point guard'

Where do you feel you rank among the top point guards in the game? Ja Morant: Top 5. If you’re Top 5, who else is there with you? Ja Morant: Morant: Steph (Curry). I’m a big Chris Paul fan. I’d say Dame (Lillard) and (Russell) Westbrook. It’s tough. The point guard position is so loaded. Some guys have to get left out.
Your teammate, Jaren Jackson Jr., was the No. 2 breakout player, according to a poll of 15 NBA executives I did for HoopsHype. What do you expect from a healthy Jaren this season? Ja Morant: To me, personally, I think he’s No. 1 if he’s healthy. He’s been battling some injuries that set him back. A healthy Jaren is definitely the number one breakout player this season. He’s just a special talent that’s gifted. He’s 7-foot-1, can shoot the three, can put it on the floor, and can play inside. He does so much on the floor. As long as he stays healthy, which we need him to be, he’s definitely number one.
