Thad Young will miss the Bulls’ preseason opener against the Houston Rockets with an infection in his left leg, and is without a timetable to return. Billy Donovan told reporters that Young had previously been dealing with the infection, but noticed it bothering him during morning shootaround in advance of the game. Team doctors advised he sit the contest out.
"[Young] was dealing with a little bit of a lower leg infection that really was not too terrible to be honest with you, and then today in shootaround he kind of came in and it was bothering him," Donovan said. "But he said he was fine, that he went through shootaround... They wanted to take him to the doctor and took him to the doctor and they advised with the lower leg infection that he sit out tonight and not play."

The NBA G League will increase its base player salaries from $35k to $37k this season, adding $2k per player, sources told Hoops Rumors. Players previously made $7,000 per month — or $35k per season — numbers that will see slight increases starting with the 2021/22 season.
