NBA rumors: Toni Kukoc thinks MJ-less Bulls would have beaten the Rockets in the Finals

On if they would’ve beaten the Houston Rockets in ’94 or ’95 if they would have reached the NBA Finals… Kukoc: I think we would’ve beat them. We beat them that year every game we played. But it’s hard to say. Hakeem [Olajuwon] was just something else when it comes to basketball skills. To me, he’s the BEST center of all time. When it comes just to the basketball skills, the fundamentals of basketball – I’m not talking power. I hope that you’re going to agree with me when we can discuss somebody who has the God-given talent of the physical abilities. I mean, Shaq being that strong, being that mobile, and that big… what do you present to say to him that I’m going to guard you with this… in the event when you see Olajuwon with his size and his weight and you say Okay. Maybe there’s a chance that I can guard THIS guy; but then he shows you all these moves. He shows you how fast he is.

A sitting team president of an NBA franchise told me it’s unlikely that the league’s owners would allow the Trail Blazers to relocate to Seattle after a potential sale. “That’s a no-go,” he said. The prevailing sentiment is that Seattle and Las Vegas have already been unofficially earmarked for NBA expansion and the current owners would prefer to avoid cannibalizing what would be a windfall of $6 billion in combined expansion fees.
