Will Guillory: Sources tell @The Athletic that the injury Jaxson Hayes suffered last night was a muscle contusion. Nothing serious. Great news for the Pels big man after his emergence late in the year.
Eliot Clough: David Griffin on Jaxson Hayes’ health after last night’s injury: “We’re doing exit physicals now. … Currently we believe he’s going to be fine and come out of it fairly unscathed, but for right now, we’ll find out. There’s more tests to come.”
Jim Eichenhofer: Jaxson Hayes takes some hard falls all the time, but it’s rare that he ever stays down for more than a beat. He went hard to the floor after being fouled by Gasol and had to be helped to the locker room by teammates
Jeff Howe: Shaka Smart said injured #Texas forward Jaxson Hayes will miss the NIT (however long the #Longhorns are in it) but the possible lottery pick didn’t break or tear anything in his left knee. Smart said the injury is the type that will likely keep Hayes on the shelf for 6-8 weeks.

Spoelstra has accepted an invitation to join the USA Basketball coaching staff for its Olympic preparations in Las Vegas next month. The Miami Heat coach, who went head-to-head against Popovich and San Antonio in the 2013 and 2014 NBA Finals, will be involved coaching the U.S. select team — a group of players that will be brought in to practice and scrimmage against the Olympic roster.
“I really just want to be a part of the program,” Spoelstra said. “I’m always pushing myself to get better in the offseasons; I go visit people and all that stuff. This is going to be a basketball immersion. I mean, the dinners, the team meetings … for where I am right now in my career, I think this is the perfect thing for a summer of development.”
