Mark Bartelstein, Kanter’s agent, told The Post, “[Knicks GM] Scott [Perry] and I are working together, collaborating and seeing if something makes sense. If nothing happens [Thursday], we’ll put our heads together.’’ By week’s end, the Knicks could have three open roster spots to fill with 10-day contract prospects. Former Westchester Knicks sharpshooter John Jenkins, who recently signed a 10-day contract with Washington, still is on their radar if he becomes a free agent.

John Jenkins did not ensure his Suns future by extending his contract-guarantee date, but he would rather continue pursuing a future in Phoenix than be a free agent to 29 other teams. Jenkins faced the prospect of being waived before his 2016-17 salary became guaranteed Monday, but he agreed with the Suns to delay the date until October. Jenkins will participate in the Suns’ training camp. “I’m good here,” Jenkins said while attending the Suns’ NBA Summer League games in Las Vegas. “I love the vision. I love the direction. When I heard it may happen, I wanted it to happen. My agent loved the idea.” The Suns claimed Jenkins, 25, off waivers from Dallas on Feb. 24 and inherited a contact that has non-guaranteed years of $1.05 million for 2016-17 and $1.18 million for 2017-18.

But the LA Clippers, who beat the Warriors 129-121 in Game 5 on Wednesday to extend their first-round series, took exception to being overlooked. “For us, our focus was to come in, extend the series and get another win on the home floor,” Clippers star reserve Lou Williams said after the win at Oracle Arena, which pushed the series to Game 6 on Friday in Los Angeles. “It’s their mistake for looking ahead. So that’s on them.”
