Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Brett Brown announced today that the team has signed forward Jonah Bolden. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. “We have been following Jonah Bolden for a while and are very excited to bring him into our program as a young, up-and-coming prospect,” Brown said. “He experienced positive growth and development last season at Maccabi Tel Aviv, a team led by Neven Spahija, who is a friend of our program and an excellent coach. Jonah’s style of play is that of a modern-day player and we’re thrilled to grow our team with him.”

Andre Drummond unlikely to re-sign with Cavs

Chris Fedor on Andre Drummond: I’ve been told that initial conversations, even though they haven’t been deep and detailed, initial conversations with Dre and his representation didn’t go great. And the kind of value that he’s looking for, is not necessarily one that the Cavs would be comfortable with in free agency, because he’s not an ideal fit the way that Jarrett Allen is.

Chris Fedor on Kevin Porter: I think people have to understand that from the Cavs perspective, they don’t feel like basketball is the most important thing for him right now. It’s him getting his chaotic life together. And they’re trying to help him with that. And they’re trying to help him with that in every way that they think is right. They’re trying to do right by the organization they’re trying to do right by the kid. And KPJ needs time for self care.

The Blazers late Thursday night said Nurkic will undergo more imaging and consultation in the coming days to determine a course of recovery. No timeline has been announced, but the way his teammates and coach talked Thursday, it sounds like he will miss significant time. “It’s just terrible,” McCollum said. “Nurk is a huge part of our team.” The injury touched a nerve on the Blazers because Nurkic is more than just their starting center. He is, as top executive Neil Olshey once said, the team’s “spirit animal.” He comes across as cocky and brash to opponents, but to his teammates, he is happy-go-lucky and humorous. And while he is burly and tough on the court, he is sensitive and caring off the court, the closest among any on the team to Lillard’s son, Damian Jr.
