Josh Robbins: Nikola Vucevic, who has missed Orlando’s last 11 games due to a sprained ankle, will be active and available to play this afternoon against New Orleans, Magic officials said.

Josh Robbins: Today, in his first game since Nov. 20, Nikola Vucevic likely will not play his normal minute allotment, Steve Clifford said. The team’s sports medicine specialists will watch Vucevic closely.
Vucevic, who has been out since his ankle buckled on him in Toronto three weeks ago, went through light practice sessions on Wednesday and Friday mornings and a non-contact practice on Thursday in hopes of getting back by Friday to face the Houston Rockets. Instead, Vucevic will practice with his teammates once more on Saturday and shoot for a Sunday return. “He’s got to feel comfortable that he can go out and play, that’s it,’’ Clifford said. “It’s as simple as that.’’
Josh Robbins: Asked about his recovery from a right-ankle sprain, Nikola Vucevic said he has started to do some limited running on the court. Vucevic suffered the injury on Nov. 20. Tonight’s game in Cleveland will be the eighth consecutive game he has missed due to the injury.
Shams Charania: Orlando Magic All-Star center Nikola Vucevic will miss a minimum of four weeks with right ankle injury, league sources tell @The Athletic @Stadium.
Josh Robbins: Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon will miss the remainder of tonight’s game with right ankle sprains, team officials said.
Roy Parry: Magic center Nikola Vucevic offered some clarity on his injured ankle. “It’s definitely not [a] high [sprain]. It’s just a small sprain, nothing serious at all. It’s more precautionary [to sit] because there’s some soreness in it. I just want to get rid of it and be pain free.”
Josh Robbins: Nikola Vucevic has a mild left ankle sprain, and Steve Clifford said Vucevic will not play tonight in the Magic’s exhibition game against the Celtics.
Eric Koreen: No restrictions for Isaac or Vucevic.
Josh Robbins: The only significant news from the Magic’s practice today was that Nikola Vucevic said he’s feeling better from the stomach bug that prevented him from playing last night. Also, Steve Clifford would not be specific about Jonathan Isaac’s progess in the NBA concussion protocol.
Josh Robbins: Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic will not play tonight, Frank Vogel said. Team officials say Gordon has a sore calf and Vucevic has lower-back tightness. The team, obviously, has little incentive to play them with lottery odds at stake.
Aaron Gordon and center Nikola Vucevic are progressing in their returns from injuries, but both of them will miss Saturday night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Amway Center, Vogel said.
Josh Robbins: Jonathan Isaac and Nikola Vucevic practiced with the team today, but Frank Vogel said both players are a ways away from playing again. In other words, their returns to game action don’t appear imminent.
Josh Robbins: Nikola Vucevic continues to do non-contact individual drills as he works his way back from the hand fracture he suffered Dec. 23. Frank Vogel said Vucevic is “close” to being cleared for full contact.
Making fists in a rice bucket, playing video games and on-court work have helped him make progress. His surgeon has cleared him only to do individual drills, but Vucevic hopes to graduate to full-contact drills soon. “Each day it’s getting better,” he said. “I’m getting more and more confident. So I think it’s going good.”
Because his surgically repaired left hand is still healing, he isn’t permitted to sit on the Magic’s bench during games. He cannot risk having a player collide into him and reinjuring his hand. Vucevic watches his team from afar, and it’s a lonely feeling. “It’s very hard,” Vucevic said. “Sometimes when you watch the game, you’ll see something that happens and you’re like, ‘Man, I wish I was out there. Maybe I would’ve been able to help in any way.’ Or I could try to say something or anything. It’s not easy. You try to stay involved as much as you can.”
Vucevic said he will receive an X-ray on his hand Friday so doctors can see how the fractured bone is doing following surgery on Dec. 26. He said doctors placed a pin and “a couple of screws” in his hand to help it heal. He hopes he’ll be permitted to go on the Magic’s upcoming three-game road trip to Dallas, Milwaukee and Washington and hopes he’ll soon be allowed to watch games from the Magic’s bench.
Josh Robbins: The Magic have listed Evan Fournier (ankle), Aaron Gordon (calf) and Jonathan Isaac (ankle) as questionable for tomorrow night’s game in Miami. Terrence Ross and Nikola Vucevic are out because of their injuries.
Josh Robbins: The Magic have corrected their original injury report to say that Nikola Vucevic fractured the metacarpal of his index finger, not his first metacarpal. He will undergo surgery at a date to be determined.
Shams Charania: Sources: Orlando center Nikola Vucevic is expected to undergo surgery on his fractured left hand and be sidelined 6-to-8 weeks. Vucevic is averaging 17.8 points and 9.6 rebounds this season for Magic.
Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic fractured the first metacarpal in his left hand during the Magic’s game Saturday night against the Washington Wizards. Vucevic appeared to hurt his hand when Wizards swingman Otto Porter Jr. reached in for the basketball with 6:57 remaining in the first quarter.
Josh Robbins: Nikola Vucevic has a fractured first metacarpal on his left hand and is out indefinitely, a team official said.
Josh Robbins: Nikola Vucevic will miss his third consecutive game tonight because of a sore right Achilles. The Magic will host the Bulls.
Josh Robbins: #Magic center Nikola Vucevic (sore Achilles) will not play tonight against the #Knicks.
A sore right Achilles’ tendon will prevent Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic from playing today against the Washington Wizards. Vucevic said he originally injured his Achilles during the Magic’s Feb. 11 road game against the Dallas Mavericks. Although he hadn’t missed a game due to the injury before Sunday, it has continued to bother him intermittently over the last few weeks.
“It’s nothing bad, but it depends on how it feels on each day,” Vucevic said. “The last few days, it’s really flared up on me. Even in the Miami game, I kind of fought through it in the second half. But today and yesterday it really didn’t get better. So we’ll see. Hopefully, it gets better fast.”
