Ayesha Curry Rumors
The Curry’s foundation was established in the summer of 2019 and Stephen Curry is amazed at the progress they’ve made in just over two years. “We had big dreams,” said Stephen Curry. “There’s a reason we started it but you realize when you find the right partners what our vision is one thing but it doesn’t happen unless you have like-minded people that are committed to the mission and the cause. Hopefully, the community feels the impact. We are doing everything in our power to provide the necessary resources, time and resources to support.”
Charlotte native and NBA superstar Stephen Curry, and his wife Ayesha, will look to “help female scholar-athletes keep shining” with their new initiative aimed at closing the inequity gap in women’s sports. The Currys’ first stop will be Stephen’s alma mater, Davidson College. The Curry Family Women’s Athletics Initiative is a gift that will establish an unrestricted scholarship endowment for Davidson’s 10 women’s athletics programs, according to the school’s website. “One thing about me is that I never forget where I came from, and Davidson College is where it all started for me,” the Golden State Warrior point guard said in a video he posted to his Twitter account Tuesday.
The Currys, who joined volunteers in helping put final touches on the playground, were accompanied by their daughters, Riley and Ryan. Son Canon, not quite 3, is a little too adventurous and energetic for the outing. “He’d be in that concrete, licking the concrete,” Ayesha said, pointing to where a play structure post was being cemented into place. But Riley and Ryan — almost 9 and 6, respectively — happily helped paint a mural and raced their parents across the play structures. “To start immersing them in this and understanding the sense of community and the importance of paying it forward, is really important for us as parents,” Ayesha said.
Students at an Oakland elementary school will be playing on a new playground when they return to school thanks to NBA star Steph Curry and his wife, Ayesha. The Curry family along with their foundation, Eat. Learn. Play., the Oakland Unified School District, The CarMax Foundation and KABOOM! teamed up to remodel Franklin Elementary School’s outdoor school yard on Saturday. The initiative was originally announced last year.
On Saturday, volunteers, along with the Curry’s daughters, Ryan and Riley, helped plant flowers in the school’s new garden and paint murals that were designed by San Francisco artist DJ Agana. The unveiling of the new space was commemorated with a ribbon cutting.
During an appearance on Friday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Curry’s wife, Ayesha, explained how the COVID-19 pandemic created some confusion for their son over what his dad does for a living. “For the longest time, he thought his dad was a golfer because of the pandemic and there was no basketball in season,” Ayesha said. “So, he’s just now realizing that his dad and his uncle play basketball. So, that’s been exciting for us.”
