The Detroit Pistons have completed their coaching staff. Brian Hill has agreed to be an assistant for new coach Lawrence Frank, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team hasn’t made an announcement. The rest of Frank’s staff includes former NBA players Roy Rogers and Dee Brown along with John Loyer. Hill was one of John Kuester’s assistants in Detroit. Hill led the Orlando Magic to the 1995 NBA finals and was the Vancouver Grizzlies’ first coach.
Brian Hill Rumors
Kay Hill, wife of former Magic coach Brian Hill, happily reports that their daughter, Kim, is doing well after celebrating the sixth anniversary of her double-lung transplant. Suffering from cystic fibrosis, Kim was facing death until undergoing the procedure in October of 2004 in Chapel Hill, N.C.. The donor was a 30-year-old woman who died of a brain aneurysm shortly after walking into the hospital where Kim was a patient. “She’s doing so great, playing tennis and exercising and everything she wants to do,” said Kay, who attended the Magic-Pistons game last week. Brian is an assistant with Detroit under former Magic assistant John Kuester.
