Chris DeMarco Rumors

Despite everything the Warriors were dealing with, they managed to beat the Grizzlies 101-98 to take a 3-1 lead in the series. “I’m so proud of them,” Brown said. “Our leader in Steve being out with COVID right before the game. Draymond, emotionally, he’s our emotional heart and soul, and for him to get hit with something that impactful, not only was it tough for him, but we felt it. We felt it as a group. It was a tough night for us. But at this point in the year, you win ball games. It doesn’t matter how you get there, but you win ball games. We found a way to win tonight and that’s why I’m excited. “When we went in the back, [Warriors assistant] Chris DeMarco says, ‘Punch 42. Dive 52.’ I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ He said, ‘We just kept handing the ball off to the fullback left and right, and at the end of the game, we kicked a field goal to win it. Hell of a football game.’ And that’s what it was. But that’s playoff basketball. Sometimes it’s grimy. Sometimes it’s gritty. They turned it into that in Game 2 in Memphis and we lost. They turned it into that again tonight, especially with Ja [Morant] out, but our guys found a way.”

Chris DeMarco is the assistant coach who works most closely with Thompson, but there’s no better sparring partner on the staff than Leandro Barbosa. That’s who lined up across from Thompson the first day he was cleared for contact and many of the days after. Barbosa is recently retired, but still lightning-quick and in playing shape. “Oh, man, that first month,” Thompson grunts. “Guarding Barbosa the first month was so hard for me. He’s still quicker than a lot of guys in the league. I’d draw back to all the times I’d guard him in the past, like, man, I used to be able to stay in front of LB. Now it’s different.”
Has Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry ever talked to you about the Olympics? Do you guys talk Olympics at all? Mike Brown: There’s a little banter going around about the Olympics because we have a few guys within our building [who talk about the Olympics]. You have Steve Kerr, who’s on the USA Basketball coaching staff, you have Steph [Curry], who obviously has a really good chance to play for Team USA. You have Klay [Thompson] and Draymond [Green]. Klay would be playing if he wasn’t hurt. Draymond played before. Chris DeMarco is the head coach of the Bahaman national team. And then I have a couple of guys on my on the Warriors staff that are going to be a part of the Team Nigeria.
Numerous people in the organization have noted Jordan Poole’s constant visits to the gym, for one-on-one exercises, often with player-development director Chris DeMarco but, also group drills and weightlifting sessions. “Jordan has been here every day, really, for the last few months,” coach Steve Kerr said Saturday, the final day of formal workouts at a voluntary minicamp. “He’s been the most consistent presence in this building.”
Golden State Warriors assistant coach Chris DeMarco said he has agreed in principle to become the head coach of the Bahamas Basketball Federation’s senior men’s national team. The Bahamas did not qualify for the 2019 World Cup in Japan. But Bahamas does has some young talent to keep an eye on for the future, led by Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton and Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield. DeMarco plans to lead a minicamp for Team Bahamas in Nassau in early August.
