Chris Jent Rumors

Pierce and the Hawks are trying to be leaders in Atlanta for change. For the past several days, Pierce has been in several meetings with his coaching staff and the front office to discuss injustice. Pierce was visibly emotional in his meeting with his assistants Thursday, and Chris Jent said he was embarrassed and disgusted in himself for being a white man who hasn’t done more to create change. After the meeting, Jent had a conversation with his teenage daughter about systemic racism and how she can avoid becoming Amy Cooper one day. Matt Hill, a normally quiet assistant, spoke out more than he has in his two seasons in Atlanta and also said he wants to do more for the community.
They are: current Nuggets assistant Jordi Fernandez, 36, who was the head coach for the Cavs’ G League affiliate in Canton from 2014-16; Hornets assistant Steve Hetzel, 38, who coached the Charge from 2013-14; Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin, 44, who interviewed to be the Cavs’ head coach when they hired David Blatt in 2014; Hawks assistant Chris Jent, 49, a former player development coach in Cleveland; Mavericks assistant Jamahl Mosley, 40, who was a Cavs assistant from 2010-14; and Jazz assistant Alex Jensen, 42, who coached Canton from 2011-13.
The Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club has named Melvin Hunt, Chris Jent, Greg Foster, Marlon Garnett and Matt Hill as assistant coaches on Head Coach Lloyd Pierce’s coaching staff. Nate Babcock has also been added as Special Assistant to the Head Coach. “When we set out to assemble a staff, we were looking for A-plus talent and A-plus people, and that speaks to the individuals we added,” said Pierce. “These coaches embody what we’re looking for in terms of character and credibility, and will help us grow our program and our organization. They will be great teachers and mentors for the players they’ll be working with and great representatives for the Hawks.”
