We’ll get into whether I liked some of these moves later, but the James Bouknight fall was a bit of a stunner from his pre-draft process push, and sources noted it may have occurred in part due to reticence regarding a high school meniscus tear in his left knee.

Rod Boone: Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak on the selection of James Bouknight: “We are surprised (he fell to 11). He did come down to us further than I thought he would. That’s a good thing. We got a player that we thought we rated much higher. Coincidentally he does fit a need in the backcourt.”
Hornets land James Bouknight

Shams Charania: Sources: Charlotte is picking James Bouknight at No. 11.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that, if Golden State holds onto both picks, it’ll take a high-upside prospect at No. 7 and a plug-and-play player at No. 14. Numerous names have been linked to the Warriors at seven, but The Chronicle’s latest intel suggests that they’ve zeroed in on four players there: Kuminga, Giddey, Connecticut guard James Bouknight and Michigan forward Franz Wagner.
