“I had the opportunity to go back to Maccabi Tel Aviv or to go to Khimki Moscow and, ultimately, because of my desire not to commit long-term to anything beyond this coming season, I decided it would be best for me to stay here, and then after this season, reevaluate what I want to do with my career; whether I’m able to find an opportunity in the NBA next year, which was my goal, or whether I will again commit to a different kind of situation next season.

David Pick: Former No. 5 overall pick Thomas Robinson agreed on deal to sign in the Euroleague with Khimki Moscow, source tells me.
Before taking the decision to extend his quite lucrative contract with Khimki Moscow until 2020, Alexey Shved turned down some NBA options that didn’t appeal to him. But, he’ll continue to keep his eyes open for opportunities to return to the league in the future. “I don’t close the door to the NBA,” Shved said in an interview with Championat. “I waited for offers from the USA. There were several options that didn’t suit me. I like everything in Khimki. My role in the team, the city, being close to my family and friends.”
Khimki is interested in Malcolm Thomas. The produce of San Diego State spent last season with Jilin in China averaging 20 points, 16.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
