Killian Hayes Rumors
James Edwards III: Dwane Casey on Killian Hayes and Derrick Rose: “A coach in the NBA is always dying for point guards. … Again, like any rookie, he’s going to have a lot to learn, and who better to learn from, go against and steal from than Derrick Rose?”
As the dominoes began to fall leading up to Detroit’s selection, it quickly became clear that Hayes was going to be the choice at No. 7. Recent suggestions that the Pistons were focused on Florida State’s Patrick Williams ended abruptly when the Bulls took the swingman at No. 4. It was long believed that Hayes was high on Detroit’s board, and sources later told The Athletic that the franchise saw him as having the most upside of anyone in this class. “I was confident (that Detroit would pick me), but you never know until it happens,” Hayes told reporters after the draft.
Rod Beard: #Pistons Killian Hayes on being drafted by DET: “It’s a big relief because in my head I kind of knew it was Detroit, but nothing was guaranteed. When I heard my name with Detroit, I was really happy… A lot of excitement. I felt super proud of myself.”

James Edwards III: Killian Hayes: “I’m excited for Detroit. I had a long talk with Coach Casey and Troy. I’m excited to meet everyone and get on the court.”
Eric Woodyard: Ex-Pistons guard Will Bynum helped train new Detroit draft pick Killian Hayes. Bynum tells ESPN that, “It’s a honor to put on red and blue and for me personally, it’s relief and excitement knowing he is great hands with Coach Casey and the Pistons, but now the real work starts!”
