Breen has called the first six games of the series between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. The series wraps Sunday night in Miami on ESPN, with Mark Jones stepping in for Breen alongside commentators Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. Breen said he feels well, per the spokesman, and expects to call Game 1 of the Finals, which begin Thursday.
The Sacramento Kings announced today that Kayte Christensen-Hunter has been named as the team’s new television game analyst. A former WNBA player, Christensen-Hunter has spent 11 seasons with the Kings, previously serving as the team’s TV studio analyst for pregame, halftime and postgame shows, as well as sideline reporter. She will provide commentary alongside Kings play-by-play announcers Mark Jones and Kyle Draper on NBC Sports California beginning with the 2021-22 season. “Kayte has proven herself time and time again throughout her eleven years covering the Kings,” said Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé. “With extensive experience as a player and broadcaster, she will bring a deep passion for and knowledge of the game to the telecasts this season.”
The Sacramento Kings announced today that Mark Jones has been named as the team’s new primary TV play-by-play announcer. Universally recognized for his nationally televised work on ESPN and ABC Sports, Jones brings more than 30 years of experience to Sacramento. He will call game action alongside Kings TV color analyst and Legend Doug Christie on NBC Sports California, the exclusive home of Kings basketball, beginning in the 2020-21 season.
