The Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s NBA Developmental League team, announced its training camp roster for the 2015-16 season. Headlining the roster are 2015 Thunder second-round pick Dakari Johnson, former University of North Carolina shooting guard J.P. Tokoto, and former Oklahoma State forward Michael Cobbins. Also included on the roster are Thunder preseason camp participants Dez Wells and Talib Zanna, summer free agent signee Michael Qualls, and former Oral Roberts guard Warren Niles, who was selected Saturday in the D-League Draft.
The Oklahoma City Thunder waived guards Michael Qualls, Julyan Stone and Dez Wells along with forward Talib Zanna, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti. Stone appeared in one preseason game with the Thunder and recorded one rebound while logging four minutes of action. Wells saw action in one preseason game and tallied one point and one steal in five minutes of play. Zanna played in four preseason games for Oklahoma City and averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 5.9 minutes. Qualls did not make a preseason appearance for the Thunder. Oklahoma City’s roster now stands at 15.
The Los Angeles Lakers continued their draft workouts on Saturday morning for their late first round and early second round picks with Phil Greene, D.J. Newbill, Michael Qualls, Darrun Hilliard, Kendall Gray, Darion Atkins. Unfortunately, a knee injury kept Qualls from participating in the workout.
