Monty Williams Rumors
Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams was recently slammed by NBA analyst Amin Elhassan for going into the Milwaukee Bucks’ locker room after his team’s Game 6 loss in the NBA Finals (and then Suns fans slammed Elhassan for slamming Williams). A recent video from ESPN’s Malika Andrews on Twitter might clear up some of the controversy surrounding the issue. In the video, an interview with Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks star says that he invited the Suns coach into the Milwaukee locker room.
His answer: “Yes. I walked in with him in the locker room. So, I had the people stop the music and stop the champagne. And he was able to talk to the team and congratulate us. We congratulate him, too, and wish him luck. And I told him, I said, ‘I feel like there’s a good chance we might run it back next year.’ He has a great team, and we have a great team.”
Antetokounmpo also said this during the interview: “It was an amazing moment. He came up to me and told me, “Congrats.” And he’s a great coach. He got the best out of his team. … I felt like the right thing to do was to take him in the locker room and allow him to talk to the team. Because I think he wanted to talk to the team, but he didn’t want to stop the celebration.”
The Jump: “He’s a first class head coach. For him to come into our locker and say congrats, that’s one of the special moments I’ll remember for sure” —@Khris Middleton on Monty Williams #TheJump pic.twitter.com/JDnlGB4j72

Kellan Olson: Monty Williams got choked up at the end of his presser when asked about processing what he learned from the Finals. Said he wanted it so bad and it’s so hard to get here. Gave Devin Booker a big hug when he was done.
