Oklahoma City Rumors
Marc Stein: The Thunder announced March 2 they will not admit fans this season. The Blazers, I’m told, are optimistic they will get clearance for reduced crowds before regular season’s end. The Bulls are still trying “to determine if there is a timeline where fans can return to home games.
Jay King: Evan Fournier said the day of the game in Oklahoma City, he had a positive test. He entered the protocol, but subsequent tests were all negative. The doctor called him and said it might have been a false test. “And that was the case.”
NBA G League Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year Paul Reed of the Delaware Blue Coats headlines the 2020-21 All-NBA G League Teams, which were announced today along with the All-Defensive Team and the All-Rookie Team. Reed is joined on the All-NBA G League First Team by Oklahoma City Blue center Moses Brown, Lakeland Magic forward Mamadi Diakite, Westchester Knicks guard Jared Harper and Rio Grande Valley Vipers guard Kevin Porter Jr.
The Heat remain active. They have kept tabs on Kyle Lowry, sources said, though it might be hard for Miami to cobble an attractive enough package given they cannot trade any first-round picks unless they lift protections on the 2023 pick they owe (who else?) the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Heat do have some interesting youngish players in Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, KZ Okpala and Precious Achiuwa — with both Robinson and Nunn headed into free agency this summer. (Despite his uneven Year 2, I’d be surprised if the Heat included Tyler Herro in any Lowry deal.)
