Trey Mourning Rumors
In addition to Green, the Rockets will place rookie Rodrick Thomas, second-year center Trey Mourning and second-year forward William McDowell-White on waivers. McDowell-White, who came off the bench for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ G League affiliate, last season, was signed to a two-way contract on Friday and Mourning was signed on Thursday. The Rockets plan to sign Thomas, an undrafted free agent from Truman State, to a two-way contract, the individual familiar with the team’s thinking said.
Barry Jackson: Alonzo Mourning’s son, Trey (the former Georgetown forward), will be part of Heat’s summer league roster, joining Tyler Herro and a bunch of players to be added in the coming hours (and days). Heat will play summer league games in Sacramento and Las Vegas.
Trey Mourning, son of Heat executive Alonzo Mourning, worked out for Heat officials on Wednesday at AA Arena, according to a source. Mourning, a 6-9 forward, averaged 6.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 26 games for Georgetown last season (including 11 starts). He played entirely off the bench his first three seasons with the Hoyas.
