Vanja Marinkovic Rumors
Vanja Marinkovic could be the next Serbian player to play in the NBA. After being drafted with the 60th pick by the Sacramento Kings in Thursday’s Draft, the Partizan guard has expressed his desire to play for Sacramento in an interview with Novosti. “I’m waiting for a call from Sacramento, to know about their plans” he said “It will be an interesting summer: I’m ready for a new challenge and I hope to become a resident of Sacramento”. Marinkovic’s contract with Partizan has a modest buyout clause for either a NBA or a Euroleague team. Kings GM Vlade Divac has already expressed his intention to bring the Serbian guard to California soon.

Jason Anderson: I’m told @Marvin Bagley and @Harry Giles will play in the California Classic July 1-3 at Golden 1 Center. How many minutes/games will be up to the coaching staff. @Kyle Guy and @Justin James will also participate. @Vanja Marinkovic will “continue to develop while playing internationally.”
The Sacramento Kings closed out the 2019 NBA draft by selecting Vanja Marinkovic. They previously picked Justin James and Kyle Guy, but held their European taste for last place. Afterwards, GM Vlade Divac mentioned Marinkovic is among Europe’s top talents noting his side will launch talks with the 22-year-old Serbian guard’s current team, Partizan NIS, to bring him to Sacramento. Marinkovic, who is attracting Olympiacos’ interest, is under contract with Partizan for one more season. However, his deal includes a modest buyout clause for either an NBA team or a European club. He was auto-eligible for the 2019 NBA draft, the Kings and Divac didn’t miss out on their opportunity.
Vanja Marinkovic will travel to the United States on Wednesday (19/6) in order to attend the NBA Draft on Thursday (20/6). Per Basketball Sphere, many NBA teams are interested in selecting the Serbian guard. Marinkovic is auto-eligible for the NBA Draft.
