Walker Russell Jr Rumors

Given Walker D. Russell Jr.’s circuitous route to the National Basketball Association and the Detroit Pistons, his strange final journey here was only fitting. Russell got the call Thursday that the Pistons had summoned him from the D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He was en route to a road game in Sioux Falls, S.D., and already had boarded the connecting flight from when the call came from his minor-league owner, who told Russell to try getting off the plane. But the cabin door had closed. Russell had to fly to Sioux Falls, get up at 4:30 a.m. today, catch a 6 a.m. flight to connect back through Chicago, and get here for tonight’s 7:30 game against the Memphis Grizzlies.“I’m all right right now,” he said before tonight’s game. “But I’m on high vibe.”
